Been there a few times. I've actually changed view levels to try and improve the selections. I also move in close to some pins and look from multiple directions to make sure they are usable. I even been partway through a selction session on a course and stopped as I've come across a green with really poor pin positions.
I managed to escape unscathed from round 2 in the regard of pins causing the score. I was fortunate to leave my approach putts close enough to be sure of a par. I wouldn't have like to play this on a faster speed setting though
