1.06 patch problems

Hi All

I only recently discovered the Pro distance mod and understood that it was included in the 1.06 patch (is this true or do I need to install the promod patch as well as 1.06) but, after installing this patch I am having problems running Links. Once I installed it I got a new shortcut on my desktop called Links Modified. When I use my old Links shortcut everything works just fine but when I click on the new shortcut I get the message in the attached pic. With CD#1 in my reader I get a message about administrator rights and then unable to verify CD#1 message.

I have experimented with compatability and set the program to run with elevated administrator rights with no success. Links is fully updated with 1.07 and the nVidia patch and the crash patch.

Not a huge problem as Links is working fine from my old shortcut but shorter default club distances is a bit annoying when I now know I can find a few extra (often crucial) yards.

I've got the fix you need!

First of all, you can't use the Pro Distance Mod for Tournament play. (Sorry) And it is not included in the 1.06 patch.

You have a RuKsHuK problem.

1. Close Links.
2. Go into your /Links 2003/ folder.
3. Find RuKsHuK.exe.
4. Change the name to OldRuKsHuK.exe"
5. Click this download:

6. Put the .zip file into a folder for saving.
Take the RuKsHuK.exe out of the Zip.
7. Copy the file to your /Links 2003/ folder.
Run the game. If you don't normally play 1.06 Links, you will have to reload whatever Links you normally play.

Thanks for that Pmgolf. I was really trying to get the Pro Distance mod working and have managed to do that. Not sure exactly WHAT was added to the game with the 1.06 patch? When you say no tournaments with the distance mod does that mean online leagues?

I'm just passing along what I've heard, Jeff. We don't know what the notches in Roy's belt signify! Could it be he caught someone with his hand in the Pro Distance cookie jar?
