Video Card

Postby Harpo on Wed Oct 15, 2025 12:41 pm

Hey all, just wondering if anyone else is using a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060Ti video card to run Links? Just switched over to my new machine and having a little graphic's problem. When I select the swing meter to change/adjust clubs part of the swing meter graphic's goes blank. Have put my card in the VideoCard.txt file. Also have installed the Nvidia patch.

So is anyone else running this card?

Tks

I don't have a Nvidia graphic card, but on my laptop that has a AMD Radeon built in graphics card, I had to mess around with the Links graphic settings. The graphics mode that worked for me is 1280x720x32bit.

Here is what my swing meter looks like. It depends on where I select of the meter as to what disappears. If I am careful I can select way over to the right and it is kind of ok.

Instead of right clicking your swing meter to change clubs, try hovering your mouse at the bottom of the screen and choosing club on the right. See if all your options work right that way. Different drivers is the only thing that will clear that anomily up me thinks.

Yeah, that works good. Hard to get used to doing it after the normal way. If I click way to the right, just on the edge of the meter it comes up ok. I'm sure I'll have to get used to that too. Now got to check and see if the new resolution shows the same amount of steps when swinging and putting. If I use my native monitor settings the game gets some different kind of graphic problems which is 1920 x 1080 but if I run it at 1680 x 1050 it is playable. Gosh, had no problems with the old machine.

Well, just looked at my old machine and I was running Links at 1280 x 800 on this same monitor. Practiced some putting and my aim was off by 2 or 3 inches on certain length putts. Set my graphics from that 1680 x 1050 back down to the 1280 x 800 and worked a lot better. Tried to alter my formula for the higher resolution but not that consistent. Gosh, this is getting to sound like a George story. blah ha ha
