Links crashes to bottom taskbar

Postby dick_burt on Mon Jun 02, 2025 6:52 am

For the last couple of weeks while playing on any course
links will drop to the bottom taskbar, screen going black.
I will do a alt, shift & pick the links icon in the taskbar
getting back into the game with no changes, no loss on play & continue to play
Could this be a problem with occasional updating my machine by Microsoft?
Any solutions to this?
Thanks for any help.

Every once in a while my screen will go black and drop to the taskbar also. I just click on the program in the taskbar and it comes back up with no effect to my round. Thanks for that. But yeah, I have had this but not every time I play. Until it is a problem that I get DQ'd then I am not going to look for a reason.

What does your event viewer say about it? What temp are your CPU and GPU running when this occurs? Are their any conflicts in the device manager?

If your windows 11 click the windows flag and x at the same time. A list should appear. The event viewer is the 3rd one down. To check temps click the task manager then the performance tab on the left. To check for conflicts click the device manager.

third party software such as skype or steam could cause it, a malware infection could cause it, but from experience i would be giving my rig a good spring cleaning and checking my video closely as they would be my 1st point of focus.

Some really good troubleshooting suggestions, Echoes. I'll add one more: ask your next door neighbor's 8 year old kid to help you.
