goodbye PRO ....... hellooooo AMATEUR !

well, got meself a new Windows10 Desktop up and running - saying bye to Win7 !
the new toy has got a 2Gb dedicated nVidia GEFORCE video card (budget ASUS variety). After installing Links, and putting in ALL the required patches - including the NVIDIA FIX patch, am able to now enjoy the game in all its glory at the highest resolutions ! and even NOW been able to see the top down ball flight in Top Camera .........wonderful !

BUT i can't get any where near 6 snap ! i snap it bang on 6, and it registers at around 5........i'm in the WOODS nearly every shot. Putting is hopeless ! :(

anyone know if there is a workaround for this snap problem ?? i know i'm nailing it at 6 but it registers at 5. Maybe its just an inherant NVidia problem ?

so i'm off to play Ammy ! the game and (LOL) "snap" works well there.

so long PRO and good luck guys !

Rob :)

Haven't noticed that issue myself and I've been running win10 for a couple of years. Are you using a wired or wireless mouse? I've heard the wireless have a lag, but I don't think upgrading to win10 would make a difference from win7.

I also use the large swingmeter. Don't think it changes the speed, but helps my old eyes!

thanks for your replies guys.......

am using a 2 buttoned Logitech laser WIRED mouse, one year old. It was brilliant on the snap in Win7.

yes LOL i tried the large swing meter yesterday - failing eyes TOO ! but alas, still can't hit 6 snap.

shall perserve with PRO level with the new toy for another week and see how it goes, otherwise the Amateur wings await.......

i do have another old Logitech wired mouse here in the draw.....might give that a test run.

If I remember correctly when I changed from XP to Win7 it seemed that meter was faster and when I tried Win10 when I could get it to work meter seemed faster also. Converted back to W7 after a few weeks not because of Links but the way 10 worked like crap. But just could be our age issue

yes the 'old age' factor hey Gibby

well tried my other good mouse on the new Win10 toy and no good.....it registers every time at 5 when i know i've nailed the snap at 6 !

booted up my (now replaced) Win 7 box and teed off........nailed all snaps right on 6. Swapped back to my new Win10 box and NUP, no good....swing meter registers my 6 snap at 5 ! BUGGERATION !

i DO have a workaround tho ! "sometimes desperate times require for desperate measures" LOL ? ............ seeing i only play about one event a week, it wouldn't be too much trouble in hooking up my Win 7 box for Links golf ONLY ! wipe the Win 7 HDD, reload Win 7 OS, update Micro$oft security patches to Win 7's end date, add Firewall Antivirus. Install Links. THEN only use that system for GOLF ! IF i ever got hacked while ONLINE for Links....WHO CARES ! no big deal. All my normal computing work and internet is on my new Win 10 box :P

just a thought......

I installed Win 10 and couldn't play I was getting too many mouse farts. I had a wireless mouse. Took my old wired mouse plugged it back in, problem fixed.
