Direct Connection

With in the Links 2003 game, does the "Direct Connection" piece work? If others are having success in connecting with a friend to play, please advise me on what to do. First, I follow the exact directions listed in the help section of the game----doesn't work. We've tried using our ISP addresses-----doesn't work. Can someone please advise?

works for a lot of us...once you click on dir. conn., one of you hits create game, then others wanting to play type in the IP numbers of the host.
The only problems I've seen are when someone's firewall is blocking others or when it's not a "static" IP from your service provider.

Life would be easier if you and the person you want to play with can talk while trying to hook up .....makes problem solving far easier. Look in to http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windows/ ......or http://www.gizmoproject.com/

Both are Free and allow you to use your pc like a phone.

Go to http://www.ipchicken.com/ to get your correct IP address , write it down so you can let the other person know when the time is right. Get into Direct connection, hit "create game" and when the next screen pops up, let the other party know your IP address.





Edit: You may not be on a router but if the person you are trying to play is, then they need to configure it for Head to Head play
