I'm sure I am not alone but this course ( never liked it LOL) is beating me up. Unfortunately as I'm away till next week after today I need to get a few rounds in early and quickly and I'm having to do it without any help from my caddy ( he's actually laughing at some of the shots I've played ) and a very inconsistent snap. T shots are pretty tough on this course but when you have a 90 yard shot to the pin and leave yourself a 35 foot putt you have to laugh.

And you can do that with a perfectly nailed shot which spins for miles or a bad miss snap that goes a long way wide. Stood over the approach on 18 knowing left is a big NO. Lots of right to left on the shot so I aimed way way right to allow for a slight miss snap. The ball went so far left it almost missed the lake.

Ah well mini rant over and just 2 more rounds to manage after some food

Just played round 3 in the same fashion..hanging on for dear life LOL Had a great little spell round the turn of 5 under in 6 holes even including a miss snap putt miss. Then the nonsense came back again and all over the place for the last holes. Missing left and right and again the putt snap failing me when that's been all that's kept me sane.

Round 4 got me excited. Actually starting hit the snap half the time and sometimes on key shots but that was after finding deep heavy rough off the T on the 1st hole. 110 yards away I think so got a six iron out and that stopped short of the green maybe 45 feet away. Chipped in and that's for the second round in a row i got away with birdie from very deep rough rough.

2nd half caught up with me and hole 17 is another where I find deep heavy stuff and have to play under trees towards the green. No birdie there though. was hanging on again at the end as the snap went walkabout again but at least I don't have to play Cogressional for a while now LOL

Don't get that big spin back with 3/4 shots in those soft rounds Roy.

Wholly cow. My snap is so far off this week with this laptop I just want to get it over with. Can't hit a fairway or green. Hopefully will be back home by Sat. next week.

And there’s the thing. I don’t have or play any 3/4 shots, never have. I had a 35 foot putt because the bad snap sent me 35 wide LOL. Where a green is likely to spin big I would either get within chipping range ( maybe up to 50 yards) lay up a lot further back so the spin wouldn’t be so bad or even aim for the rough.

Likely all set for Doug again this week. Hitting 100% fairways is a massive bonus.

What's a fairway? These are my FIR% so far 14.29 -53.85-64.29

My aim for round 4 is to try and keep it under +10 :P

Thought I was going to tie old Harpo... until I went left on #18 and had to chip out. Lucky to get bogey there.

On a course like this and playing MC/FC, the nerves even off the tee and approach are heightened... at least is my case.

At least Congressional doesn't have those greens that fall off from the center (ex: Pinehurst #2).

Thought you had me easily this week Doug. Even in Pro, this course is a bear. And yeah, just some more big points for the last event.
