Internet Explorer 5.0

Postby Re-Flog on Sun Nov 05, 2006 8:38 pm

Whenever I try to launch my game from Links Online, it gives me an Error message stating that I need IE 5.0 or higher. I have 7.0, but it still won't launch. Anybody got any ideas why?

Thx, Reflog

First thing that comes to mind is allowing lspn.net access via your Internet Options/Trusted Sites.

Internet Explorer is a bad piece of coding that unfortunately comes with the windows operating system.

Were things working with Internet Explorer 6 before you upgraded to Internet Explorer 7.

No! In fact, I just bought a new computer. I tried to play with whatever was on the computer before and the same problem. I D-loaded the IE7.0 and had the same problem. BUT, everything works with the Links MOD, but, not near as many tourneys to play.

thx for ur suggestions, Reflog

reflog, warren's advice is very pertinent/valid, so i wouldn't dismiss it entirely. grant is also spot on, though probably not what you were wanting to hear.

redownload v1.05.

So your saying you can connect to play the Mod events but not the other events? If thats the case I think you have to revert back to the 1.05 patch. If you have the 1.06 in there activated you will only be able to play Mod.

Might be stating the obvious, or it may be what Crazyhorse was saying, but you do realise that 1.05 and 1.06 (the MOD) are separate programs? You have to make sure you're running the one that you want.

excellent point, steve. i myself have a horrendous habit of dismissing the obvious. i can't count the number of times i've penned (actually, typed, i don't remember the last time i actually physically wrote something) diatribes, only to find out it was...click...the...start...button.

Re-flog: in your other post Here:http://www.lspn.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=459
it sounds like you only d/l the 1.06 not the 1.05 try that again.

Edit: after that go here http://www.lspn.net/forum/viewtopic.php ... c&start=15
and look at the posts after I installed IE7 and ck those suggestions

even though, and it's been proven here time and time again, the simplest answer is usually correct, i erroneously give the benefit of the doubt. but i'm a secular humanist, what would you expect?

lol I think the most intelligent of people enter the problem house through the chimney to get at the furnace in the basement. But when they find nothing but dark come back up the stairs to find the door they should have come through in the first place, and find the thermostat is off. hehe

Ok, Thx. I will try uninstalling the Mod program and see if that will make the other work.
