Oh... I don't know. Never used Linux before.

I am looking for less expensive alternatives to XP.

i was just messin' wid ya, owntor. there is no linux version of links. but might i suggest, rather than buying xp, buy a new/used version of vista:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000HCZ9BG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_olp_2/102-0418910-4417745?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1184541216&sr=1-2

i read a coupla blurbs from peeps claiming they'd bought (more than likely someone bought it for them) vista for school, etc, and not opened the package. color me skeptical, but i guess anything's possible.
