Try updating the video card drivers; the ones that ship on CD with the card are not always the latest ones. If you've tried the latest ones and still are experiencing issues, try older or modded ones. Finally, you could also try turning down the video acceleration (in Windows) or the graphics detail (in Links).

I tried to get the powers that be to add some stickys to the top of the tech forum but it fell on deaf ears.. your card is 1 of those situations lol
1st thing you must do is add your card to the video text folder inside the game. To do that click start then run and type in dxdiag hit enter. when the diagnostic box opens go to the 3rd tab on the top, it says display. on the left columm it says device, the 3rd line shows your card with a series of numbers behind it 0x5961 or 0x5964. note which 1
then click start, my computer your hard drive (ie "c") program files,microsoft games,links2003....locate the video text folder......scroll down about a quarter of the way till you find vender = 0x1002 "ati" then scroll down till you get to the 0x59 section and add the following depending on which dxdiag told you your card was.
0x5961 = "Radeon 9200"
NoCopyZInVidMem
0x5964 = "Radeon 9200"
NoCopyZInVidMem
Hit save under the file box in the upper left corner.
This will allow the game to sense your card for graphics, if you still have problems afterwards run the ati software removal tool in add or remove programs it should show a size of .11mb to remove all ati drivers from your system then install the following drivers available at ati

6-11-pre-r300_xp-2k_dd_ccc_...
If you encounter any problems along the way hollar out and i will walk you thru it.

not really deaf ears, ter, i just didn't see existing posts that needed to be moved to the tech forums. but you are correct, there seems to be an influx of noobs who would benefit from tips like editing the videocard.txt.

i sent a pm to mark asking if dc's tech tips could be recovered, or if dc might have retained a copy. good stuff, and it would take awhile to duplicate.
