Did you message Andy to see of anyone is having trouble? I don't seem to be having any trouble, and I'll be glad to help if I can. :D

Pete

Don’t know Andy to message him, and don’t think it’s LC issue. No harm in asking

I downloaded Colonial Country Club (2558) and it unzipped right away. If you will send me the zipped file you're having trouble with, we may be able to solve this problem. Dropbox would be fine, but I have PM'ed my email address to you.

One more step in the process, Gibby. If you would, please download this file from Dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rgh20c1wekzv76d/2597.zip?dl=0

Is it ok, or is it corrupt? Thanks!

[[ Info from a tech search at LinksCorner: from "F-o-o-o-r-e"

ChuckyB: I too have had this problem many times now, and only on this site! Most files download and extract just fine; others, strangely enough, I re-download exactly the same way, and usually they extract correctly the second time. For reference, I use Internet Download Manager for the actual downloads, and then WinRAR to extract them. This site is the ONLY site that seems to give IDM trouble, and only occasionally (I'm seeing a bit more of it lately as I collect some of the highly-rated courses from the recently posted database). If a file fails to extract, I bring up IDM's list of items I've DL'd, and select "Redownload". That usually fixes it, but I have no idea why; presumably it downloads exactly the same data the second time, and if not, why not? -- when it works everywhere else flawlessly. Once, I needed to redownload a second time, and that time it worked. I have DL'd countless files from Youtube, many manuals & drivers from tech sites, news & sports videos, without a single error other than an occasional abort due to poor wifi signal. And I'm talking about at least a decade's worth of data with those two utilities. As for Explorer, I've never used it for extracting files, and in fact I don't even use it to navigate files on my system (XYplorer, or just about anything else, is superior).

Free Download Manager: https://www.freedownloadmanager.org/

Next, Possible fix:

1. Delete Internet temp files. Control panel - Internet Options (Browsing history - Delete Temp internet files)
2. In same Internet Options - Advanced Tab: uncheck "Use HTTP 1.1".
Try the download again.

The Temp internet files have no value - they will be rebuilt. And the HTTP checkbox can be rechecked.

That's all I've got for now. I contacted Andy - he's checking into it.

found a alternative Snapbox. It's free and uses wifi between devices. Devices just need to be on same network.
works between my Ipad and pc using web browser
Downloaded Colonial 2020 on my Ipad and sent to pc. All done and working fine
Thanks Pete

According to what I read, one or two other people had similar problems with their course downloads and no one could figure out why. I'm going to post your solution over there to help them. Glad you found something - I was out of ideas! :D

Works on multiple platforms. Open browser and go to Snapbox, on the screen it names each device and you’ll see it on each device. Select folder/file, takes very large files, and dropped it in my downloads folder.
It’s free and uses your WiFi connection on your network.

Found a better way since snapbox works when it wants to.
Since I'm already using Google Chrome it offers Google Drive using Zip Extractor. So I can download courses on my IPad into Google Drive, I then have access to them on Laptop in Drive. Unzips and installs into courses folder.
Always a work around just gotta keep looking. 8)
