Links Crashing

Postby wsdave on Sun Jul 29, 2018 10:52 am

And the saga continues :?
I have moved to a new computer, as my old one was dying a slow death.
I have reinstalled Links 2003 several times applying the following patches:
Link2k3_107_final, LSPN_crash_fix, LSPN_main_L2k3. I even ran Links2k3_nvidia_win7_final even though my system has a Radeon RX580. I even ran the dgVoodoo2 file referred to in another thread (which hosed links).
I have restored my system and attempting to solve problem(s).
When I launch Links online I get to the main screen. After selecting Amateur, stroke and classic swing I can see some events.
When I click on conditions I see the first round OK but when I select second round - Links crashes.
I do have the ability to play online, via Game Ranger, as I just finished playing with no problems.
Do these patches have to be run in a certain order? I'm running out of options here.
I'm running an Acer Aspire with an Intel i5-7400 cpu. My video is Radeon RX580. I have 8 GB ram.
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated :D

Hiya Dave -
I would try putting the patches in the order they are here --

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8533#p72333

And the Nvidia patch is really for any video card -- but maybe not Intel graphics on the motherboard.

I want to thank you VERY much Redskin :D
Not sure which patch repaired my Links, outside of the ones I did BUT it worked!
Was afraid that I would not be able to play online flights!
Thanks again!
