Club distances

Postby Trapiche4 on Sat Feb 17, 2007 6:11 pm

Well, after playing this game for 9 years, I've got a strange problem. Just started tonight. Whether playing on or off the tour, my club distances freaked out. SW going 140 yards, problem seems to be with all irons going much further than they should.
No changes to my PC today. Tried uninstalling and reinstallin Links, no improvement.

Any help greatly apprerciated.

Are you playing Power Stroke, the irons go much farther.

No, classic swing, version 1.05.

Really strange. Played normal this AM, tonight all my irons are going waaaay too long. Tried creating new players, same problem.

I'm stumped!

Thanks for answering Crissy

Just one more thing. Off the tee in practice mode iron length is correct, but subsequent shots have bizarre distances.

Never heard of anything like this before, barring any other suggestions I'd just reinstall

I've tried 2 uninstall/reinstalls, tried different video drivers, no improvement. Game is unplayable like this.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Now that I think about it someone did post a problem like this in one of the old forums, but someone with a better memory than me will have to recall the answer. Sorry

Trapiche4,

As I posted in the other thread, I think I recall something about the shot setup/loft in the irons changing without physically going into shot setup and changing them. I suggest checking your club set up on every club/iron and try to reset them. This may take a few holes to do so, but hopefully it helps. Double-check the setup on every shot and make note it if changes at all.

Thanks Armand and everyone for your help.
I've tried everything I could think of and all suggestions. The best I can do is set my irons all the way "forward". They still go a bit long but I can get used to that. But I have to set each iron back to default off the tee.

Craziest thing!
