When I try to open a fix , to install it , it will give me an error box with options to ignore cancel or retry. I wonder if any of them ever get on. what is my answer.

I'm pretty sure that you are trying to open a .exe type file. If so, just put the file you downloaded into Links file and double click on it to run the fix. If this is not the problem, maybe download it again to make sure.
