Links freezes when trying to do multiplayer

I'm at wits end here, I'm running Windows 10 and everything is up to date, my graphics card in a nvidia gtx 465 and the drivers are up to date, i have the downloadable version of links 2003 and i also installed the 107 patch, i also installed the win7 nvidia update, all of my drivers are up to date and the game works fine when playing off line, i have alot of friends that play this game and they are not having any problems, is there anything else i need to do or install ??

How exactly does links freeze?

If a friend of mine starts a game thru gameranger, it lets me join then it sometimes freezes when i try to add player and sometimes it lets me add player but freezes when i go to click on settings ok.

Ok If i'm understanding this right, you never make it to a tee, so actually you are having connectivity issues. Were you able to connect before Win10 on the same computer? Have you and your friend tried to hook up via direct connection under online in the game itself?

Unless you have a tablet, go back to Win 7, or before, to play this great game.
