ah, i meant did you redownload v1.05 and the server switchers?

i know i've read of others having the same problem, but i've never had that happen personally. there might be a quick fix, but the easiest way to fix it would be to reinstall links, v1.05, and the main server switcher.

hmmm, ok, so we hafta start thinking about the connection stuff. under connection settings within the game, make sure you uncheck 'use system internet settings'. check 'connect through lan or connect manually'. and uncheck 'use a proxy server'.

if your using a software firewall, e.g. zonealarm (the best) or norton internet security (most bloated, though a cnet.com review says it's been trimmed down), make sure linksmmiii.exe has local and server trusted access.

beyond that, the only thing i can think of is there are conflicting values left in the registry. ya might try uninstalling links, running regedit, and manually deleting everything in the registry with links 2003 in it. then reinstall links + v1.05 + server switcher (thanks, free'. when i say reinstall, i always assume the update stuff).

Somehow , I guess we've graduated from one error message :

"AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE TRYING TO
START LINKS TOUR. PLEASE MAKE SURE
YOU HAVE INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 OR
HIGHER AND TRY AGAIN. "

To another:

"A file on the game could not be found. Please visit the
website for support" http://www.Lstour.com-server error 404 code :15

Any ideas?

On all previous occasions that peeps have received this msg it has been because they either did not have 1.05 downloaded or installed properly (of course the same is true for the IE 5.0 msg as well)

It seem I'm back to the first error message

"AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE TRYING TO
START LINKS TOUR. PLEASE MAKE SURE
YOU HAVE INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 OR
HIGHER AND TRY AGAIN. "

Please keep thinking ,mayby someone will discover the answer.
