Postby MasterMontgomery on Sat Jul 16, 2011 8:21 pm

Recently iexplore.exe has been using memory in my processes. But, i do not have ie open.
I can delete it but it comes right back. Sometimes there are two. I have tried malwarebytes,
combofix and vexira but no good.

any ideas?

Thanks for the help T. I should have put this in the 2003 forum.
Nothing seems to work. I may have to reinstall then reinstall links. I have never done that in all these years,
I will call on you if i need help, if that is okay.

may be wrong here, but doesn't Links use IE to connect to the LSPN server?

there are two variations of iexplore, gib', as described in the link i posted. you are correct, iexplore is a normal program running in the background to do a variety of tasks. however, apparently (never saw it personally), there is a variation that's malware. the link below describes howto differentiate the two.
