Need download for 32 bit to 64 bit

Postby 84jaydog on Sun May 01, 2011 5:37 am

I use to play LINKS LS all the time . Even though I never was any good at it I still liked the game. My problem is that my new computer is a VISTA 64 bit OS . My games are set up for 32 bit. I was told that I could find my program at this site. Can anyone give me the info that I need to start golfing again?

There is no 64 bit Links program. Just install the old Links 2003 and it will work as normal .. well, I'm talking Windows 7 64 bit, but Vista should be the same I'm pretty sure. Anyway, Links is a 32 bit program that runs fine on a 64 bit OS.

Since the post is in 2001, he may have problems playing 2001 on Vista. May have to go into Links properties and run in a compatibility mode.
Common sense and common courtesy two things this world needs more of.

In the "other" thread, I responded prior to seeing this post:

Armand wrote:To my knowledge, there is no 64-bit version of Links. However, that shouldn't stop you from enjoying Links on your computer with 64-bit Vista .

We'll need a little more information from you regarding your attempts so far to install/play Links:
1. What version of Links are you attempting to install/run?
2. What is the source of your installation - the game CDs or the downloaded version?
3. What patches or mods, if any, have you installed?
4. Are you logged in as an Administrator?
5. Are you running Links in either compatibility mode or with elevated administrative privileges?
6. What monitor do you have and what is it's native/maximum resolution?
7. What video card does your computer have installed (integrated or stand-alone) and are you using?
8. What driver are you using for your video card?

There are possibly/probably other questions that may come up (should you experience further trouble), but see if you can reply to at least questions 1 through 5.
