The 64 X 64 limit is holding you back Chris.
Ernie's avatar is 100 X 100, so the other forums 64 X limit is buggering up the resolution of the .gif

I'll open it up & see if I can fix it for you.....no promises though :)

Hey thx, Grant. Very nice of you. I kinda thought it might be the 64 x 64 limit, but I see other "moving" avatars all over the same site....some seem quite complex and are visually amazing.

The text is is the thing. It's difficult to get anything readable under 8 points on pretty much any monitor in the .gif format.

I actually re-created that .gif at 300 dpi, but natively, the results will vary with different monitors. And it certainly did for me.

The re-do I did with coreldraw in vectors turned out looking worse than the resize I posted for you!

Its the text that's hard to do. Maybe someone at the other site can figure it out :) Let me know how it works out for you Chris :-)

You might ask the moderator to increase the size allowance a little?

sorry I didn't get back to you till now, but look here

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22avatars%22

I see you're having problems with the one you like, but hopefully you find another that you can work with.
