Good on ya pard. Now, without quoting your entire post, my "one solution" was meant as a suggested course of action for when the tour restarts. I fully understand that remedy is beyond the scope of your duties (been around the block a few times myself), and I also know Mark is busy enough with other things to take time out to address this problem at this time. I was hoping you would pass this along to him when he gets a breather (moderators make good liasons). In the interim, perhaps folks should just stop replying to those posts so that you may freely delete them in their entirety sans fear of bruising any fragile egos.

Have a nice remainder of the weekend. 8)

point taken.. and will follow up on passing on to Mark.
and you're exactly right about not posting to the SPAM! if its auto generated, the quips are not getting read, but possibly that the phishing (?) is getting a response does more harm than humor.

plus without commenting it will make it easier for me to whack~
(wonder if w h a c k will get censored?)

Bruce, before I got to edit my last comments in the Allen thrd of getting a responce from Mark or someone about the new season start you locked the thrd. That thrd was only 2 pages long this one is in it's 3rd. Lets do the right thing here also and either lock this one or delete it. Let's be consistant.

Jim,, c'mon.. you know "size" has nothing to do with it~

its content.. and how things are exchanged. why would you be concerned about number of pages?
if you dont want to read thru it.. well you know :)
and if you want to read the latest, you can click on the last page..

i think that is being consistant.

Agree with you about the obvious inconsistancy Jim. At least when I was moderating, I abused all troublemakers equally. Image

me thinks this thread will soon be locked Image

That's simply not true. The anti-spam module was installed and the e-mail verification process went into effect back on Nov. 27. Each of the most recent spam contributors posted their spam on the same day they registered. If an e-mail verification process is in place to curb autogenerated registrations on this board, it's not working.

The latest example is MrDrugsss, who registered and posted nearly 12 hours ago. Despite all of this alarm about spam, his message is still up on the board. I sincerely doubt that posting a reply to a spam message on a forum bulletin board has any effect or provides any benefit to the spammer.

Prior to MrDrugsss, we had ultraalur, who registered and posted on 1/11.

Then there was AbraahamLcn, who registered and posted on 1/5.

Prior to that, AngiNYmucsi registered and posted on 12/24.

There are other examples. But I could not find any evidence to support the notion that "many of the spammers" registered prior to the installation of the filter.

Actually, I couldn't fnd any. Every single one I checked registered and posted on the same day.

and to my knowledge it was DC that set up the filter on that day.
so other than me sending DC an email notifying him of the increase (done) there's nothing more i am able to do from my seat.. except delete when i see 'em, or when someone tells me so.

I have a different theory ...

What if there is only one person here ... let's call him "Mark" ...

And he suffers from dissociative identity disorder ...

And each and every one of us is just one of his many multiple personalities?

New members here are an indicator of the rapid progression of his disorder.

When he wants to address technical issues, he calls out Terrell.

When he wishes to become verbose and articulate, he calls out Larry.

When he wishes to become difficult, stubborn and argumentative ... well ... take your pick.

"I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together."
