Gators???

Postby Jimboroks1 on Tue Jan 09, 2007 2:33 pm

If it were not for all the mistakes known to football occurring in one football game,LSU would have wiped its feet on the gators and played anyone on earth and whipped them like they did Notre Dame and Miami the year before.

Go Tigers

My thoughts to HammaH, LSU had their chance at us and FAILED! Also find it a bit funny now that it's done and over we are hearing nothing from the Big 10 fans. I've been saying for weeks that OSU hasn't seen a defense like the Gator have and that showed on the field. Also OSU gave up 80 points in it's last 2 game, not what I'd consider a championship caliber defense.

Good day all

Steve

the gators had a pretty decent defense all season long. what they hadn't consistently shown was the multiple offensive passing looks (that worked) that totally confused the ohio defense. it's no surprise that bill belichick has an interest in what meyers is doing at UF. a quick flexible defensive line, great speed in the secondary, capable of changing defensive schemes overnight. and an offense that can move like the pros if the quarterback can make the quick reads, even though they don't have a dominant running back. ohio state got out-coached. usually it's the finesse passing teams that lose their timing over the long interval before the big game, but this time it was just the opposite.

jimmy johnson proved at UM and dallas that great team speed will devour big but slower opponents. SEC teams learned that lesson long ago. lw

Steve,

In my neck of the woods most fans cheer for their favorite team rather than the conference they're in so maybe that's why you're not hearing much. Another possibility could be there just aren't many Ohio State fans here in this forum. Congratulations to Florida for showing they are truly the best college team this year. They looked awesome Monday night and watching them kick Ohio State's rear end all over the field made most Michigan fans feel all warm and fuzzy.

THE Ohio State University

Well. here is one big buckeye fan.
And Max, your boys did not look to great.
As for talking , not much to say. What i considered one of the best teams
ever got destroyed. Its kind of like licking your wounds and hoping
to play another day.
Iowa and Wisconsin did well against the SEC teams. So what about
our bucks? Maybe Larry is right.

Doug, I think it was Penn State, not Iowa that beat an SEC team "Tenn". I can relate to how you feel. In the championship game in Jan 96 when the Gators faced Neb. they did the same thing to us. That's about the time that the whole SEC started the "let's get speed" idea. I truley did believe we were going to do well in this game but really had no thought of it turning out like it did. Now I have to wait another 7-8 month for football again, as my Redskins are bottom dwellers.

Good day all

Steve

PS thanks for the congrats Max.

Sad in Ohio

Yes Steve:
It was Penn State,
And i remember that came your talking about. Also not long ago
Fla St beat Fla during the season then got killed 52-20 in the bowl
game. Makes no sense. But Florida is a super team.

Doug, you are not the lone Buckeye.

As a life-long Buckeye, I survived the Cooper years and I'm sure I'll get over this loss. Florida's defense should be commended for the outstanding game that they played. As far as the Buckeyes being outcoached, let's see what Coach Meyer does over the long haul, after all of Ron Zook's recruits are gone.

GO BUCKS!

Doug,

You are right. Michigan looked terrible in the Rose Bowl which left me depressed in Michigan. All I was commenting about was Steve wondering why Big Ten fans hadn't said much. I didn't mean to offend anyone but I'm not a Big Ten fan and definitely not an Ohio State fan. It's just a fact of life in Michigan that we don't pull for Ohio State no matter who they're playing. I have a feeling lots of Ohio State fans were warm and fuzzy also when Michigan tanked on New Years Day.
