Make sure Links is not running when you apply the patch.

Also, see #3 in my response above. (Right click on the EXE file and choose "Run as Administrator" when you install.)

ok, I ran as administrator like u said and got no error message.I will test it latter when I play. Thanks for your help. Rich

Hi, I had to reinstall the game after having to reinstatll windows 10 after an update crashed my PC. Now the game crashes when I play online such as Links online. I get an error message which says " Error: only power of 2 textures up to 1024x1024 supported. (8-8) 7306652352TGA." I did the 107 install and the Nvidea and other patches. Also my sky conditions are all screwed up or don't show at all from the tee. I need help, been playing since 2000...Rich

today I got some updates from HP for my PC. Now when play online the game keeps crashing. I am getting very stressed over all these problems....Any suggestions will be appreciated...Rich

One of the updates was a bios update, whatever that means....

BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) updates are essentially firmware updates for your computer, making newer hardware a bit more reliable with the operating system/software. Although that might sound promising to help fix your issue, it very likely will not have any affect whatsoever. Nonetheless, it's usually wise to update your BIOS to the latest available. Nothing to be concerned with unless the update didn't install properly.


** EDIT - Oops .... I may have confused your issues with a different user. If you don't have an integrated/Intel HD video card, you may choose to ignore the rest of the post.

The Intel/integrated video card is likely at issue with your game, as others have pointed out. Have you seen this post?:

Give the method a try and see if that helps your game. While it's a bit of a nuisance to start, if it works with your computer, it might be worth the effort at the start and end of your Links rounds.

that bios update was one of the HP updates they installed. How do I know if it installed correctly?

I have an intell graphics 630 card...

I tried disabling my video card but ended up with a black screen; had to restart to get back to normal...

Rich, this is exactly what I'm getting with this new Windows 10 laptop. Have you figured it out?

I tried this and the screen was to big to be able to hit the OK button. It took me 15 minutes how to figure out my computer screen resolution size in order to fix it. I'm good right now with 1280x720 32bit.

Rich, this is exactly what I'm getting with this new Windows 10 laptop. Have you figured it out?

And here I am 4 years later having this very same issue after having a new SSD hard drive installed in my Windows 10 laptop. I wish I could remember what I did to fix this.
