I believe most users in this forum are using XP so this is a good note to refer to when it comes time to install Links 2003 on your new OS, Windows 7 32/64.
When you install the patches (nVidia users would use all three) and a message appears "This program may not have installed correctly, reinstall with the correct settings" (words to that effect). I chose to allow W7 to reinstall the patches the way it wanted to and it screwed up the rendering of the game. (see link below)

After formatting my system to try a slip-stream of W7/SP1 then installing Links 2003, the same message appeared on each patch in installed. I clicked "program installed successfully" rather than choosing "resinstall program with correct settings".
This should help a lot of folks avoid a major frustration when upgrading to W7. By the way, I use W7 64bit and love it. Best things since sliced bread from Microsoft.
