Enable Remote Avatars

Postby Crissy on Mon Jul 24, 2006 1:45 pm

Hi mark I was wondering what the chances of turning on the remote avatars feature for phpBB is. I can well understand that uploading them to your website may eat up your bandwidth and may not be a good option. But many people will add them to there signatures remotely anyway, so I thought I would ask.

I am sure the members would like and have a lot of fun with this feature enabled.

Thank you

Avatars are little pictures or animations that you can assign to your forum account. They'll show up next to your name in all posts.

Thats my avatar on your left I use this on my site, I will change it to something more linksy later for here. The avatar should be no larger then 80 x 80 pixels thats default and I dont think mark changed this, if he did I am sure he would let us know.

Thank you mark for adding this feature, I am sure it will be fun for all.

Crissy, you're looking pretty healthy kid. Keep up the good work. You haven't been going over the falls in barrells, have you?

Hi there Roughrider how are you ? No I have not attempted tossing my self over the falls in a barrel, recently anyway. We do get the odd nutcase here, that attempts this every now and again though. Seems a bit more frequent since they added the Casino, so close to the falls. lol

I know pictures can be deceiving sometimes Crissy, but in that one you bear a striking resemblance to Natalie Wood

Hi Grant I had to go look to see who you meant. I was about four years old when she died (1981), must have been a very sad day for many mainly her husband and children.

Hi there sorry I did not see your post until now. I most times just make my own, I find something I like and just resize it to 80px x 80px. Searching through goggles photos is always a good place to start.
