hey! i can do cordial. don's never asked for freebie courses, said he was a professional golfer and it's normal to hit fairway bunker shots the same distance as regular shots, or swore a course was free as long as you pay dues.

oops. blew cordial, didn't i? (8

I'd trade all mine here in Links for just one IRL golf. Been waiting 30+ years for one IRL golf after many many rounds!! Congrats though on your one here. I just got another one here last night myself.

Congrats on the ACE, DJ. Way to go. You are right about paying if you get one. That commercial on TV where the kid gets an ACE and looks around thinking that no one saw it until the guy in the golf cart shows up saying congrats to him. Then they are standing at the pop machine and the kid says "The drinks are on me."

Like Scott, I'd like to get an ACE in real life. Been playing probably for 25 yrs or more and still don't have one. I've been close a few times. Hit the stick on the fly once from 150 - 160 yards out and put one or two within 3 ft of the hole, but still hunting for that elusive ACE. :)

One of things that keeps me coming back.

just tradition. "fame'n fortune to the winner" kinda thing.

good question tho, similar to Why Are There 18 Holes in Golf ?

the answer is that when the Scots played the game in ancient times amoung the tall and wild ggggrrrrasss (before they had the use of Toro mowers), they would consume a nip of scotch on each tee to keep themselves warm. it took 18 holes to empty the standard scotch bottle.
