Home tab tournament listing request

Postby HeavySwinger on Tue Jul 10, 2007 3:49 pm

I would really like to eliminate a couple of steps to get to the tournament listing I use most often. Currently the listing is sorted in ascending order by end date. 90% of the time, I'm interested in sorting in descending order by start date so I can see the newest tournaments. If folks don't want the default changed to this, I understand, but can't the default sorting be placed on the options page so I can set it?

I don't understand the question. :?
What do you mean by course list? What course list are you reefering to?

And I can't edit the question itself :? doh!

The question should read: How would you prefer the tournament list to sort by default?

i kinda like it the way it is, because once i goto the homepage, and see my tournaments highlighted in yellow, i know i need to get crackin' to finish them. but it's certainly not an unreasonable request for your defaults to be remembered (i guess, i have no idea how much work that is).

Ok I understand the question.
When I set my filter options, most of the tournament list is already filtered out.
The remaining list is only 1 page long, so it really doesn't matter to me how it's sorted.

I only play LSPN Official Events and filter the others out. The tournaments listed as they currently are is fine by me.

That said, I understand players wanting the LSPN site to retain a players personalized (as default) setting for listing or sorting tournaments.

If you click on events, start date, end date or players it sorts it for you.
Click events and it goes from ascending to descending
click on end date and it sorts it

Yes it does, but every time you go back to the home page it defaults again. Then you have to click on the start date column once and it sorts from earliest first, then you have to click again to get it to sort latest first. I end up doing this several times each night. Another idea is to have it be sticky like use a cookie or something.

Larry, with the filters and the sorting that can be done by clicking on the columns, Mark has it set up pretty good. I think it would be impossible to have any default that would satisfy the majority.
