Any better idea how to handle this situation... other than the obvious - "don't start there"

Black Rose, Third Round, First Hole... 1st shot into the bunker front of the green, duff the sand wedge and ball ends up on the brick steps... no drop... no way to loft the ball over the steps, only options I saw was play off the brick step back into the sand, or just rotate and play into the sand anyway.... the end result was a triple bogie.. nice start to a windy round on a tough course. Grrrr.

Only option was to turn around 180 degrees and hit back. Seen the pro's do that a few times in a sand trap.
