bingo, thanks, jim. i could not think of lsch. mostly because i never played one. given my fluid schedule, i simply can't commit to showing up on a particular day. i'm afraid i wouldn't be able to finish half of them.

i have no preference as to start/finish days, as long as they are pretty much all the same. the old lsch's (cut events with time limits) ended a day before the other events, but the players had to be aware of the 40 hour time limit for each round, so confusion was limited. an event with a 24 hour time limit / 4 day total window is going to have a lot of DNFs. lw
