I know what fixes that before the Administrator priviledges issue! You need to replace your RuKsHuK file. The admin Priv thing is probably caused by letting MS install Links where it wants rather than you putting it outside the MS protected area of /Program Files (x86)/. First, the RuKsHuK thing.

Get this file: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/cderjb86fjoulgg70fr6t/RUKSHUK_2003_102.zip?rlkey=gwm2vm1uu3hdtwti6dv4kp78z&st=4139q2r4&dl=0

It's zipped. Unzip it and do the following:

In the Links directory, /Links 2003/, find the RuKsHuK.exe file and put "old" in front of the name.
Put the unzipped file you downloaded, RuKsHuK.exe, into the directory.

That's what has fixed the problem in the past. How did it work for you?

Try right click on the Icon, then click on Run as administrator.

Alternatively, go to users and make sure you have administrator privileges.

CHEESE ZUS !!
did a practice round or so at Pro level ........ by crikey what a differance to Ammy Level !
much harder. I noticed that the aim distance allowance for fairway slopes left to right/right to left is DOUBLE that of Ammy.
it may be a while where i can get back to playing Pro , especially with my snap ....... its gone walkabout somewhere.
i may need to reinstall "AutoSnap.EXE" AGAIN

but the new box is wonderful ... so much faster is Links, and with the dedicated video card the colour the crispness the detail is just brilliant. I've got all options for Links Graphics at their max and the redraws are still fairly QUICK at 1280x1024 resolution !

Looks like a nice rig!
Good to see that there is at least one more who got Links to run with W11. If you look through the forums here and especially at Links Corner, we are a rare breed!

been rocking win 11 pro 64 bit since Sept. 2022, links worked like it has on every OS since win 98 was phased out. Which is just fine as long as the sound is off.

Good to know. I've never had an issue, even with Vista.
