Hey Steve (fescue), were you in the path of totality? Or anyone else. We were able to see the total back in 2017 here in Oregon on a perfectly clear day.

We only had 55 to 60% effect here in FL but had clear view with no clouds. I can imagine the full effect was amazing.

Rick,
My city had 98.5% totality but not quite "total." I picked up my wife from work at 3:10pm and we stood outside until it was past it's "totality" and I must say it was very impressive. Fun watching videos of all of the cars trying to leave the Great North Woods!!

That would be quite something to be skiing during totality.
I've seen plenty of partials, but to witness a total eclipse is an out of body experience.
And yeah, Steve, I had met my daughter in central Oregon to see it back then, and after waiting at a standstill in traffic for 2 hours to get back to Portland, she reversed direction and spent the night with my cousin in Bend.
