PLSA Upcoming Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches

It's the old Honda Classic. It's my favorite tournament because I started the course in APCD and Glenn Braden put some fanastic finishing touches on it. I know Jack Nicklaus makes changes every year, but there will be none to this course. Glenn had a disk failure. I think I have what I submitted to Glenn, but I don't think he wants to redo it again.

I can't always do it, but the secret to this course is to hit fairways. The greens were done using Strackaline maps so I know them to be accurate for the time they were done. There are no surprises or weirdness to any of them. I've not had much trouble with "The Bear Trap" (15, 16, 17 and 18).

I wish everyone good luck... and I'll take all I can get too.

Man, of all the holes to miss the fairway, #11 is probably the most dangerous. I hit 11 FIR, but missed on #11. Then dunked one on #17. 14 GIR, not many real birdie chances. The greens are not harsh, but lots of double-breakers if you're outside 10 ft.

It's a real shame to play so poorly in a tournament you look forward to yearly.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Played a practice round while watching the final round of the tourney on TV this morning. I used to do the same thing on Harbour Town (early version). I'd shoot in the high 50's with regularity, but when it was a tourney, I got stupid.

ACE was on the very long/water 5th.
