As I recall, I deleted it about 5 minutes after I downloaded it, when it first came out, and played a few holes. :)

rams hill is a real world desert course in s. california about 60 miles south of palm springs and has been used as a site for u.s. open qualifying. i thought kent perrins did a good job on this track, using aerial photos, 3000 digital photos, and incorporating many of the actual trees from the course into the model. i haven't played it in a while, but it got good marks from the LC guys, and i plan to use it in the near future as a tournament venue myself. lw

and a sheepish rescinding of my needle of george's event venues--rams hill and lagalochan bay were nice choices. it's a drag that he got bounced out of his own event. i've played my own event for 30 straight weeks without a deQ (and it's a no reQ event), but i play offline, and have a "games" folder installed. lw

interestingly, george's line score does not show a dQ on either the home page or the in-game scoreboard, so he may still be in it. lw

george is indeed alive, but had a "tough" day at rams hill--5 pars for a 57. he has to shoot a 51 at lagalochan bay (back tees, breezy, fast, normal) to tie roy for first. but at pro, i'm not betting against him. lw

Not a chance to win, VGA-snapitis attacked my last 2 rounds! If there was a way to speed up the meter .12 of a second, or 3 stops, I'd be just fine.

Larry you stated that you had no dq's in your event.
I was curious did you finish all of your events??

doug, in the 30 completed weeks of the event, there were three weeks i couldn't play at all, and five weeks where i ran out of time and didn't make the time cut-off, one week by only two minutes. i have not personally had a dQ in any week. and neither have any of the top players during any week. the tour scoreboard is now making a distinction between a dQ and "abandoned", which i'm not sure i understand.

my own finishing record (if not my actual play) has been a lot better in the last two months: 8 for 8. i am an offline dialup player which puts me at very little risk of a connectivity dQ. lw

NP

Postby MasterMontgomery on Tue May 08, 2007 4:03 pm

Larry i was only curious. I know that when i create an
event i feel like i should finish it. But things happen.
Anyway this post is about George so i should get back
on track. My prediction is Roy will win. But you never know.
