Computer question

Postby Harpo on Tue Nov 28, 2023 1:30 pm

Not a problem with links but in the last few months my computer stays on after I shutdown. I end up having to turn it off manually. I have tried a few things in my power setup but has not worked. I have read that having to turn it off this way can hurt my HD and other things. I do get sometimes that a fan is not working at startup and wonder if that may be the cause? Any tips?

I just went in and stopped the "fast startup feature" and it shuts down ok now. It does not effect the fast startup. Don't know how it works exactly but did some googling to find it. Somehow that feature was preventing it to shut down. Do not know what caused it in the first place but will see how long it last.
