There all MS. I'm guessing if you'll you're still playing Links 2001, Pelican 2003 would not work.???

Why would anyone still be playing 2001? Just curious. Advantage?

Jim an advantage? I think you better re think that. Roy beat me by 20 strokes in 1 round,
40 over all. I finished last. Wow what an advantage. but, having said that, it is neither here
nor there.
As i said i only have 2001. An i looked at hole 13 an it was flat. (unless i made a mistake).
So today while try to understand this better i loaded 2001 in practice. Then went to hole 13
an what to my surprise. A huge drop from back to front. back is 15 ft down while front is 21 ft down.
So one day it was flat next day huge drop. So 2001 does not have a flat 13th hole.

He He, was just kidding Doug. Doesn't matter what version we are playing when playing against Roy. But 2003 must have some advantages? Better graphics or maybe even a better course builder. Something that I think you would jump on seeing that you have built some really nice courses. I just thought everyone was playing ver. 2003. My bad ...

In "My Account" you have a choice of a pull down menu of 2003 or 2001 under the "Game" so I thought maybe he was playing under that. If that is what it means? Or does that mean courses?

That part is true Jim as the tour still offers a limited schedule for the 2k1 game. If you look at tournament schedules (except plsa) you will see what appears to be a duplicate listing on all non challenging tourneys. The 1st is 2k3 the 2nd 2k1, there is no challenging 2k1 tourneys since the game never got the mod.
It has its own leaderboard page that would show if you had 2k1 ticked instead of 2k3, and its own tech forum that hasn't had a pertinent question to the 2k1 game since 2019. But the 2 don't mingle.

GoesForIt wrote:Whether you could have a tailwind one round and a headwind the other depends on the APCD author. The author can set the maximum wind speed (with variance) and wind direction (with variance). Below are the settings for Carey Park Municipal Golf Course. Based on the direction variance, and after much study, 85% really means the wind change will be 15% of a circle. So, if the middle was at 0 degrees on a circle, the wind could vary by 7.5 degrees either side of 0. I've loaded Carey Park 50 times in succession and the wind direction on hole #1 goes from about 5:30 to 7 O'clock.

This doesnt sound right to me. Setting it to 100% variance in APCD will make the possible wind directions be about 50-60% of a circle, or in other words around 200 degrees (however the both extremes of varying more than 25% or 90 degrees away from the default direction will be extremely rare). In the early days of my wind testing, I thought that meant that a 50% variance setting would mean the direction could be half of that, in other words 25-30% of a circle, but I later discovered that is wrong. What really seems to be the case is that there is a hard-cap on about 50-60% variance, and any setting in APCD between 60% and 100% function the same way. However, setting the variance to 25% for example will make the wind directions vary a lot less. I find it very mysterious that you say your course shows wind variance as a little as 15% of a circle with the 85% setting. Possibly your APCD or Links interacts different with your system in some way, but that wouldnt make much sense either.
