Royal Melbourne - Course Object Question

Postby BitLeft on Mon Mar 13, 2023 1:07 pm

Can someone please enlighten me. I have played a goodly number of Microsoft and APCD created courses in my time, and have no idea what "this" is. Is this an "in" thing, known only to Truly Down Unders?

Is it on every tee box?

If it's the first tee, maybe it holds scorecards. If on every hole, maybe it could be a holder for sod, etc. to fill divots on the tee. Or maybe it's a misplaced beehive?

Could it be a ball cleaner? Looks a bit like what I have seen here in the UK back in the day.

Using "Panoramic" in the Golfer Settings Main Cam selection, it's appearing to me on the following tees - at least on a once thru cycle: 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 18. Sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right. Pretty sure it also showed up during the middle tee round during play, but the above listed "sightings" are from the back tees in practice mode.

It appears that Roy may be correct:

I'll say one thing for sure, there is no mystery about Links that those in this Tribe cannot solve. Well done.

they are sand BOXES full of sand.........
to replenish your sand BUCKETS with sand, that you are mandatorily required to hook onto your pull buggy before teeing off !

the sand, yes, is to fill your divots.

the ball cleaners here Roy are those round metal things on poles, where you pop your ball into the top, and turn the handle, which runs the ball around inside thru a degreaser ......... we are advanced with the technology down here

Very similar to ours locally.
