PLSA Honda Classic (PGA National) 23-Feb - 2 Mar

I'm pretty excited about the Honda. It's my course (with huge improvements from Glenn Braden). It's not Mike Jones course, but I think it's true to PGA National. I actually purchased Strackaline green maps so even though Jack recommends makes modifications yearly, I think they're still pretty accurate.

The key to good scores is stay in the fairway and out of the water. There's very slim 1st cut so if you're in the darker green it's Deep Rough. I'm pretty sure I've got some of the pins in perilous positions.

Good luck to all.

I'm sure Mark will get the Honda up soon.

The satellite photos have not been updated in at least a year. Jack removed the two traps on the right side of #6. Google Earth Pro still shows them... and you still get to deal with them    . This PGA National will never change. Glenn lost the course in a hard drive failure. I could submit my original version to him to have it redone, but I doubt he'd want to invest the time.

The field at the IRL Honda is disappointing. They built all that stadium seating and I'm guess with only Adam Avennson from the top 10 in the FedEx cup and no other big name players, those stands don't have to worry about collapse from weight.

Disappointing because it's sort of a "Jack" tournament like the Memorial.

I made a huge mistake in having middle tees on two rounds of this tournament. Be prepared next year.

Man, Old #6 got me Round #4 and kept me from having a round I'd have been proud of.

You beat me due to my 6 on 6 in round #4...and maybe other places as well. RATS! Of course higgi and harpo have yet to weigh in.

I made a similar bogey in Round #3. I was pin high on the right and thought I'd given it the perfect love tap... but it lipped and went running down the hill. I will say if you'd hit your above the hole, it would have stayed.

That pin position will be changed next year. Not sure what the tournament will be called, but the flags will still be Honda because this course is not updatable.

FYI, DougMM will not finish.
I already finished with MasterMontgomery.
So that was practice on rts
Played the back 9 -9.
So there is still hope for rts.
You will win unless as you said
Roy or Harpo jump in.
Nice tourney.

Doug

Clearly I must have downloaded the wrong course. I couldn’t hit a fairway or make a putt. My guy kept saying when I putted “slow down, where you going “. My playing partner kept giving me the eye as it looked like I was putting again before the ball stopped rolling.

My pro FedEx totals will be late tomorrow as I will be at Bay Hill watching the big boys play.
