Geez. Had it going okay in Round #2 until 18. Disastrous triple to bring the round back to even par. Crud.

And now, 2 rounds of M(C)/F(C). Whoa boy!

Here's the anatomy of a triple...

For round 3, these pins correspond pretty much to IRL: 2,4,6,12,16,18. The rest vary a good bit.

That's 8 rounds at Augusta for me, with my rounds on my own European Tour.

Highlight were this birdie chip on the 11th in round 3

and this bunker eagle on the 2nd in round 4

I hope I'll do well, but I think 70 68 would be pretty darned good.

Was pleased with -8 here, but not so much with the -3 at the European event. Seemed to have far more slightly off shots there

Nor sure I can do 4 more rounds on the World Tour

New and infrequent players... good to see. Hope you will continue with future tournaments.

Working hard to make the course tough, real where possible and fair.

2,3,6,7,8,9,12,13,14,15,16,17,18

Pretty much hit the jackpot for Round#4 (didn't help my play though)

17 is just a bit farther back that what I posted but the other numbers above are almost exactly where they'll be IRL today.

I would post the pin positions I used for Round #4, but since not everyone has finished it really wouldn't be fair.

I will post them after the tourney is over in case you want to replay that round for fun (fun he says!)

I just replayed it and with no pressure shot a -6 including a birdie at 18 (21 ft). There ya go!

I'm seriously considering using the Forward tees for all 4 rounds next year... maybe 3. It makes the course 200 yards shorter overall would give maybe one less club here and there for a sharper angle on approaches and just allow drives to end up where the pro drives end up.

We'll see... got a year to think about it.

Posting ANY pin position of any round while a tourney is still open is highly unethical imho.

Well... if there were cash prizes involved (and a cash investment to participate), then yes, but this is all in fun at this point. Since the course/pin setter is also a participant (and rightfully so), there's limits to all of this.

It is certainly true though that someone could take those pictures, go into Links in practice/custom pin mode and display all the pins and figure out which ones they are (aka reverse engineer).

I appreciate the enthusiasm for trying to provide some form of an IRL experience (limited though it is on a computer).

My two cents,

Ronnie

The pin positions on the map above are in the public domain before tourney play with a simple Google search.

The numbers I posted were not pin positions from Links, but hole numbers that i think corresponded closely with the IRL pin positions used Sunday. The pros and their caddies know exactly where the pins will be before play.

The only way you could take advantage is if I gave out the Links pin numbers and you used them to practice. I did not do that.

If i had given them out and a player used them to practice, it would be the player who was unethical.

Which pro are we thinking? There's a fair bit of difference between DeChambeau and Langer at Augusta :D

Cheers,
