Jack and Tiger's World Rankings at The Masters

Postby JackRussellTerror on Fri Nov 13, 2020 3:59 am

heard an interesting fact on the sports radio channel tonight ..... quite spooky

Jack Nicklaus won his first Masters in 1963 and 23 years later, Jack won his last Masters in 1986. Jack's World Ranking when he won his last Masters in 1986 was 33rd in the world !

Tiger Woods won his first Masters in 1997 and 23 years later, Tiger MIGHT win his last Masters in 2020 ! Tiger's World Ranking, this week, when he plays in the 2020 Masters is 33rd in the world !

anyone see a coincidence ? i'm putting my house on Tiger winning The Masters this week

how cool is this .........

I heard that on the Golf Channel. Pretty amazing. I also saw during the coverage that Tiger has opened with a 68 one other time. He finished 4th that year(I don't remember what year). :)

Tiger's off in round 2....making a good start.
another interesting fact is that no eventual winner of the Masters shot 4 rounds in the 60s ! maybe this year ?

It looks like playing this time of year so far these guys are playing Ammy instead of Pro mode. The rain has made the greens kind of soft. I think there are too many good players playing good this year. I'd like to see Tiger win but he has a tough battle ahead of him. We will see who can hold together till the last round.

Here's another fun fact that Jim(Hello, friends) Nantz just shared. When Jack won in '86, he was 17th after the 2nd. You guessed it! Tiger is 17th after the completion of his 2nd round.

and in both Jack's (1986) and Tiger's (2020) 2nd rounds .......... they each shot 71 :o

don't go away, there may be more mysteries to come

but alas, history wont repeat..... Tiger can't win this year :(

nope ! record still stands .......... Dustin shot 65 70 65 68. Missed it by one shot in round 2.
Congrats to Dustin tho in winning the Masters !

one thing to note, runner up Australian Cam Smith did shoot 4 rounds in the 60s ......... but he wasn't the winner. In fact, i think Cam is the first player ever to shoot 4 rounds in the Masters in the 60s !
