Good news: I played a round in the PLSA.
Bad news: The server problem bit me. When I finish the round, it says everything is fine with the upload of the results, but it isn't, and when I go to the LSPN WWW Site, it shows me "disqualified".

I never had that issue for many years. Have played very little in the last two or three, and it's happened to me far too frequently when I have tried to play.

Drats, it was a 58.

Thanks for the pointer. I had the "use system settings" box already checked, but I the "dial-up" connection type box was checked. I changed that. Don't know if it will make a difference, but I will try again next week or I may try one round of CLSC this week just to see if it submits.

For some reason it was quite happy to send in my scores from Devil's Island a few weeks ago!

I retired from my faculty position this year---a bit young---age 58---but the lack of support had made the workload such that I didn't feel like I was able to to continue to pursue excellence in all that I was required to do. Still plan to stay engaged in computer science research, but I look forward to playing a few more rounds of Links. It's been hard to carve out the time in the last few years.

Me thinks it's time to look at your firewall, router, and/or network security paths to make sure links has a clear path after running this patch again

Well, I'm 1 for 1 in successful uploadings--I had an older version of the ...MAIN.. patch, but I had a few rounds that had updated before. I also chose to play "online" just to see. I'll try offline for the next one and see it continues to work okay.

I hope it does the trick for you Ronnie. I still fear a permission exemption may be needed for the game when it tries to reconnect after an offline game.
