I am being forced to upgrade to W10 by Microsoft. Will this be compatable with LSPN?

If not, are there any alternatives?

I didn't have any issues with my new laptop with Windows 10 until I started tinkering with settings, mainly the sky settings. DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH THE SKY SETTINGS! I have to COMPLETELY remove Links and then reinstall. No problems since.

MS will stop supporting W7 in January.

No problem with LSPN, but could be with Links. Search the board for Links and Windows 10 issues and solutions.

No problem with Links, either. I've been running w10 for the last couple of years.

I play occasionally on a Windows 10 laptop with onboard graphics. I had to go this route to get everything to work properly:

I think with a good graphics card installed this would probably be unnecessary.

I use Windows 7 and from what I've seen of Win 10 (my wife has it on her laptop) I'm not impressed.

As far as upgrading to Win 10 is concerned, I suggest waiting to Jan at least. However, providing you take various precautions it may be possible to carry on using Win 7 for a long time, maybe years even, after Jan. My understanding is that some people are even still using Win XP with no problems. Here's some advice about precautions you should take if you wish to carry on using Win 7 after MS have stopped supporting it:

https://windowsreport.com/use-windows-7-forever/

Having said all that, I wouldn't be surprised if MS change their minds at the last moment and decide to continue supporting Win 7 for another year or so after Jan, as they did with Win XP. There's probably many users, especially businesses, lobbying MS to continue support, so we'll see.

Further to above, I just noticed that MS have apparently already extended support for Win 7 by three years from 2016, so it does seem that the support will be removed on 1st Jan 2020. Seems that if you have Win 7 Professional version though, some kind of support may still be provided but if you have the Home version there will be no more support.
