I went back and tried again... (the little red circle is where the ball ended up this time).

I'm not sure I had a 100% straight tailwind so I suppose somebody with enough tries could beat my 494 yds.

Full disclosure, as I said, I DID NOT do this in real play. I did it in practice mode with mulligans on so I could just keep trying over and over.

That's the only way to do this is in Practice Mode. That's why I said last session. I too was in practice mode. No way a person would get the right conditions to crush a ball that hard and have it roll-out like yours did during a tournament round. It's too bad yours rolled into the rough which disqualifies it. Just fairways and greens in long drive competitions. Usually the fairways are long enough that the green does not come into play.

I make screen capture videos as a hobby for three different golf games which means making a video of this shot was quick and easy after all these years.

Making videos is a nice way to showcase the designers' creations and show great shots or saved shots during tournament rounds. I've been making these since 2006.

I also make the videos to help promote what many of us consider the best 3Click Meter golf games since the Links LS series.

You did great to hit it so far. Just too bad it didn't stay on the green.

These are all my video Play Lists at YouTube.

I'm going for a "Also mentioned": Tournament play, apcd-courses' World Golf Tour in 2014 at Kapalua Plantation hole 7, 460 yard drive that finished in the fairway! (In my golfing experience, balls that finish in the rough are not eligible for longest drive)

That is correct. Any long drive competition, the ball must come to rest on the fairway or green. Rough disqualifies the shot. That is one reason I like to video record my best shots for competitions.

Good luck with your attempts!

I'll take that as a challenge. Here's a 490 that stayed in. Not sure you can go much beyond that without continuing on into the rough.

There's a Par 4 at Kapalua Village that I didn't think you could carry ditch... but I did in tourney play a couple of times recently. It may be a candidate. Just not sure it would run out... nor whether you could get the right tailwind on windy.

Just tried it... no soap. Can't get a decent tail wind... 36? yds.

Aaaaaaaah! EVERYTHING perfect. I'd not been going from the back tees because I'd never been able to get it over the hump before the green with enough speed to carry it on down. This time, maximum tailwind and a perfect landing that stayed to the right side.
