Ouch but why didn't you take the gimmee?

I will go for a different thread on the special things that can and occasionally do happen and why we still play this game.

Just had a hole with 2 of the horrors on one hole  Playing ammy had a flat lie onto a flat green, 165 yards for a possible double eagle. Hit the power I wanted, the ball flew true, hit the rim of the hole and boinged back 26 yards

Still a decent lie , hit the chip and it stopped looking into the hole less than 1inch short  Not my idea of a fun hole and then I find I might finish 2nd by 1 stableford point.

For those who don't know - and I was one of them:

I've been playing Links for 5 years or so on this computer, but lately I've been having a terrible time with my swing (RTS). I hit what I thought was a good swing, but I miss the sweet-spot on the club face by at least two clicks (usually caused by a bad swing path or a bad swing pace). Switched mice several times but no help. Finally I decided to uninstall/reinstall Links. Taking great pains to save all my files, I did it. It worked! My swing is back to where it was several years ago. Makes me think that Links has some kind of sub-routine built in that "learns" player's tendencies!

(1) See the break, but the ball goes straight.
(2) seeing the break( eyes are not working like they once did).
(3) And yes, the infamous soft-medium. So you hit the ball 6 to 8 yds farther
and the spin past the pin, thru the fringe, thru the rough and back down into
the fairway.
(4) I must conclude with the temper. real golf, no problem. Most things in life no
problem. But, I get so mad at this game(and at my age) that it can't be a good thing.
I expect perfection and when it does not happen, well there goes the temp.

hitting the ball into an area that states: "unplayable lie" and that area not being marked like O.B. is marked.

hitting into an area where ball gets stuck behind a rock and not even being able to take your medicine and hitting backwards, the only thing you can do is hit the rock and hope you get away from it

hitting the ball over water, finding land but rolling into the H2O and then having to drop many yards back .... grrr

but most of all i would like to note that despite all these annoyances this remains such an entertaining game and it remains my favorite way to enjoy my koffie in the morning.

to fairways and greens

For me, hitting a ball into the sand and not being able to see it well enuf to tell whether its a buried lie or not - 50-50 chance of whichever way you decide to play it, you are Wrong! Grrrr. Links, as we see above, is REALLY an annoying game......but aren't we glad we have it!

What annoys me...
Manufacturers ramming equipment down our throats. :x
Because it is thought it is better.
Used a 4x3 ratio monitor for decades that has gone different lines & colors.
Had to buy a 16x9 ratio monitor because that's the only thing on the market.
Everything is stretched out..
Links looks & acts differently & it's taking me a while to get used to it.
AAHHHHHH! :x
Thanks for letting me rant...
