Links2003 and Windows10

On line Links 2003 has gone from bad to worse or useless I am sorry but Microsoft 10 is he biggest bit of rubbish and is a "pain in the armpit ( or some such word). I have used Microsoft 96 and all versions upto 2007.

I would not use Windows 10. In my case, there is no need whatsoever to ever load it. Windows 7 Pro works well for me. I didn't even have to mess around with Links 2003. It worked well, right out of the box. I did install every update for it though. I did not just install the 1.07 patch.

Although i agree with your assessment of windows 10 having been thru win 95,98,xp, and win 7, with win98 being my favorite for gaming, your links problems are much more a result of the hardware pushing your graphics than the operating system itself. Links and integrated graphics get along like water and oil....they just don't mix well.

Hi Missippi.Thanks for your help; but I deeply regret to say, that I am still lost. When I turn on the game playing a practice round say at Atana. The game comes on the first hole,BUT
1 It says Top Cam loaded but nNO VIEW IN TOP CAM
2 The first stroke is played and the screen breaks up showing a plan view of the tee
3 The tracer is not a series of dots but large dashes
4 The ball lands on the green no arrows to show green inclination
5 When the putt is played the green breaks up
I HAVE DOWNLOADED ALL THE PATCHES V1.2, V1.5 AND V1.7. Graphics NVidia
But my grahics is Intel 620 is that a problem
I am at a breaking point can anyone help. please WackerWoods

I am still having problems. I am able to load the game and play "Practice" at Atana. The game loads first hole BUT :
1.The graphic does not show "Top view", although tit syas its loaded, also unable to display aiming marker
2. Tee off and tracker not properly displayed Suddenly the display now changes to tee sections and ball lands.
3. On the putting green, golfer putts but graphics don't show the putt but graphic breaks up to the skyline
4. suddenly the system bombs out and back to first hole.

I have loaded all patches v1.2,1.5 1nd 1.7.also NVidia graphics patch but no way Jose. I am still struggling.
Any suggestions, other than RUDE ONES or SIGNS

I've had "troubles" with new laptops before and its always come down to "Legacy" settings. I never seem to remember that until I'm jones'ing for a round of Links..

...The surefire way to get links 2003 to play right is to play it on a machine with a video "card" not sharing memory with windows processing.

I think this is your answer. It's the only thing that worked for me with Windows 10.

The Intel/integrated video card is likely at issue with your game, as others have pointed out. Have you seen this post?:

Give the method a try and see if that helps your game. While it's a bit of a nuisance to start, if it works with your computer, it might be worth the effort at the start and end of your Links rounds.

I have managed to reload Links 2003, with Intel Graphics upload for Intel 602 chip, and Links 2003 is working of a sorts.
The graphic screen for top cam is present but unable to use "aim marker". It does not show at all. So Links 2003 is awfully difficult to play. It is Windows 10, I complained to the provider of the Laptop and their response was
"Reload Links 2003, Amen". Has anyone experienced this problem?

I have Links on my new computer and have the same problem. I can not see the aiming marker in the top view but can still click and pick a location to hit to. It also only shows part of the ball tracer when I hit in the top view. I still have my old machine with Vista right next to the new one and that is where I play my games still. I can not update my browsers on the old machine with Vista loaded and sometimes it takes a few tries to get the video to come up so that is why I got a new machine. I should try and figure out something to get it working (new machine).

I most always play in Elite mode anyway so I can't aim in the top cam window in that mode.
