Roy when i got a new computer i had to reset the refresh rate, i just searched a little and found some posts from 2020 where this is discussed. You had a post as well as lacers.

Not sure this will help but thought i would throw it out there. Best of luck!

Is the refresh rate the same as the frame rate Echoes mentioned? Mine seems settled at 31 with it twitching when it does rendering. All good now

the post i found on refresh rate appears to be from may of 2020

this is related to refresh rate not the frame rate .....

The refresh rate depends on the monitor, whereas the frame rate relates to the GPU. The refresh rate is the maximum number of frames a monitor can display per second.

hope others may shed more light on this for you since i am not computer savvy.

looks like things are better now as you get sorted good luck!

No...albatros was speaking Hz. he had to change his monitor from 59.94Hz to 60Hz. That wouldn't apply to you at all since y'all run 50Hz over there.
You can probably turn the fps back off Roy you didn't show a resource drain affecting the game.

Echoes, are you thinking of TV refresh rate in the U.K.? Surely monitor refresh rates in the U.K. are the same as anywhere in the world, 75Hz, 144Hz, 165Hz etc. I'd be surprised if many monitors used for gaming are at 60Hz nowadays. If I have misunderstood your post.........apologies.

I'm just remembering when i was overseas in the Navy many many moons ago, everything electric was 50hz as opposed to 60 in the States. My monitor has a maximum refresh rate of 75Hz. I play links @ 60. when my monitor arrived it was set to 59.94.

"My monitor has a maximum refresh rate of 75Hz. I play links @ 60." Granted that the difference between 60Hz and 75Hz is minimal, but why would you not choose the highest refresh rate that your system could support?

Why? Lack of trust in the power supply's that barely meet the demand of the machines put out in today's business model. If i was a hard core gamer and i built my own machine i would.

same, i play Links and everything else at the monitor's default 60 !
it will go to 75Hz max and the swing guage "seems" smoother, but i still can't hit that darn 6 mark if i played Pro ....... age related

Fair point. I rebuild, (upgrade), my computer approx. every 5 years and I make sure my PSU is more than adequate for anything I can throw at it. I'm hardly a hard core gamer, (obviously with a 5 year build  ), so it is always a battle of price versus performance that guides me.

My "gaming" computer i bought in 22 only came with a 400watt unit.Last one I put together had a 750watt, when i 1st plugged in my Altec Lansing speakers my ears told me i had nothing to push with. Links is the only thing i have pushing the rig besides my tunes, i play it @ 1284 x 1024 32 bit so no need for a quicker refresh rate.
