yep. between the photography forums, router forums, it's tennis season, and of course, work (just a sideline), doesn't leave much time to watch sopranos. i am going camping this weekend, and i'll have my laptop with me. so if there's a web vid of the last round, let me know.

Thanks, Larry. I didn't use the driver very much in the first round. I played too cautiously, but it was the first time I played champ in I don't know how long.

I didn't get frustrated with the bogeys, and the subsequent rounds went better than I expected. With my snap, I can't imagine playing Elite.

BTW, outside of the Click Ammy that I play, I usually play PS but have not played a tourney here.

I'll see you guys there next week. I've been slumming around the Pro venues lately, and I'm looking for a challenge.

Should be fun!Image

Wow what a tough course.Image

Those deep greenside bunkers are deadly. Especially if you're against the sod wall.Image

Playing the 1st round I landed in them 4 times, and was a nightmare to get out. lol
Good Luck for those brave enough to venture this course, it's a real challenge.

westie is remarking on this week's venue, royal lytham and st. annes. the last time (irl) they held the open there, the winner (david duval) was the only player under par. they had four days of balmy almost windless weather, the rough was playable, and the course "only" plays 6900 yards. the committee merely cut the hole locations closer to the edges of the greens and close to those deep bomb crater-like pot bunkers. bill bunning's model had plenty of tough edge locations to choose from, and over the four rounds i used all the juicy ones. lw

<nothing to do with links. but lw's comment about bomb crater bunkers reminded me of this>

i was playing with 3 sales guys (being an engineer, tough thing to do hobnobbing with them socially) in lexington kentucky a coupla years ago. one of the guys got into a deep bunker where you couldn't see the top of his head. seeing only the club as he finished his slash, he took about 10 swarps attempting to get out. then we see this arm fling the ball up onto the green. we could barely finish the hole we were laughing so hard. Wow, with a power glitch I couldn't even resume. Larry is getting tough on us.

Yes, I noticed that. lol
They were located in very devilish locations, particulary on round 3-4 with F/F greens.
The pins were so close to the rough and bunkers, I could not be aggressive and shoot for them.
I had to play a safe shot close to center of the green, and putt long.
Great setup Larry, was alot of fun. :D
