Putting

Postby MasterMontgomery on Fri May 18, 2018 3:49 pm

I have not played in quite awhile, because I had no internet.
The other night I brought a hotspot home from the library.
I enjoyed playing, but I forgot in putting how much do you adjust for each
inch up or down that the putt is? Sounds silly but I really forgot. Getting old I think

thanks
Doug :)

I can't answer your question directly because I putt by feel and experience. But I would imagine if you were measuring, it would depend on the green speed/hardness and what mode of play you were using. I'm sure there are charts for that out there somewhere.

good to 'see' you back Doug :)

for Moderate Medium greens non-challenging, I roughly add 6 feet extra distance for 12 inches UP. With 12 inches DOWN I deduct about 4 feet off the distance...........i think from memory.

e.g. a 15 footer on MM Greens FLAT i would hit 16 feet..........if that same put was 6 inches UP I would add 3 feet and hence hit it about 19 feet. Same putt 10 inches UP I would add about 5 feet, hence hit it about 21 feet. 12 inches UP i would hit it as a 22 footer.

16 footer 12 inches DOWNHILL on MM (N/C) greens, I'd probably hit it at 12 foot or 11 foot mark !

other players would differ perhaps
