can't start up game

What happens? Did Links load okay? Did you install the original game first, then the patches?

I only could download the game . I just opened up the patches folder , not the patches. Isn’t there a certain order they open up in ? I do need the game disc. The game won’t open up but instead a box comes up saying it won’t or can’t.

If you get this error win Windows8/10 here's how to fix it

1. Go into the Windows 10, click the start button then start typing the word “programs”. Or go into control panel.
2. You should see an option for “Programs and Features” – click it to open it up
3. When the window opens, in the left menu, click on “Turn Windows Features on or off”
4. Scroll down until you see a folder labeled “Legacy Components” and expand it
5. Do you see an option for “DirectPlay”? Is it checked? If it’s not checked, check it and click Ok
6. Close those windows then try the game once more.
