howard stern on tiger woods...

just a little curious here: did anyone here catch the TIGER WOODS MISTRESS BEAUTY PAGEANT on the howard stern show this morning?

howard, of course, is on sirius/xm satellite radio. a "shock jock", maybe. but he is the best interviewer on any radio. any category, any celebrity/politician/scandalous mistresses, etc.,. once you get past the [censored] dial-a-date/ [censored] humor stuff, he does have a good radio show...

point being this: he had 3 girls who messed around with mr woods- all confirmed.

their stories were, simply put, amazing...

at first, i didn't take this too seriously. until after the show, stern had a news conference. and of course, all the major gossip rags had reporters in attendance. but when a reporter from sports illustrated spoke up, i took notice. i get tmz, access hollywood and the like being there, but sports illustrated? that goes to show this story has legs. and maybe all the crap out there has some truth to it.

this is out on the 'net. i'm not posting it. just google stern, or woods, or both, and you'll find it. it's there- just look...

i find it amazing this guy had such a squeaky-clean image for so long.

i find it more amazing ea sports keeps backing this guy up. after seeing the latest trainwreck of a pc golf game they have to offer, i'm not surprised. they are a good fit for each other... once dominating at the top of their fields- now happy to get any press whatsoever...

I think the only reason EA sports (and Nike) are sticking with him is because they invested a whole lotta money...to the point that they cannot back out without losing their shirts and more.

Personally...I don't feel sorry for Tiger because he was cheating on his wife for years...and the only reason he stopped cheating is because he got caught.

The media truth bar is set so low all you need is one person to say its true. So IMO just another talk show host capitalizing on the Tiger Woods story/scandal. This story has legs because the media can still make money from it. They will need a new big star scandal before Woods if out of the picture.

Westy I also do not condone TIGER cheating on his wife. Getting caught is 99% the way the wife finds out about the hubby cheating.

TIGER the sports figure was signed to contract by NIKE and Ea Sports. Not Tiger the family man. Thats why NIKE is still aboard. What can EA sports really do, sign Phil Michelson to market Tiger wood Golf 2010 and beyond. EA is between a rock and a hard place. They have nowhere to run.

both you, dennis, and westview make good points indeed.

you guys are right about the sponsors. these corporations it seems could care less what these athletes do "off the field", or away from the game- as in tiger wood's case. a good case in point: kobe bryant- probably the biggest star in the nba...

the truth of the matter though,is as follows: if tiger woods would have done what david letterman done- that is, come clean and "man up" soon after his incident happened- not giving guys like howard stern a chance to capitalize on what woods did- this matter would be long forgotten by now.
you really can't blame howard stern for what he did: he paid three women $100,000 in prizes and money (not even his money, it was paid by his show's advertisers), and he got at least a million dollars worth of press and publicity out of this deal...

of course, tiger woods handled this all wrong. and that news conference recently was nothing short of ridiculous. that alone brought more scrutiny to his scandal. and our society craves the next big scandal. it seems people in general like to see successful athletes, politicians, actors, etc., fall from their pedestals. and the richer and famous they are, that makes it more the better. and not too many are more richer and famous than tiger woods.

what i still find amazing is that mr. woods seemed to not hide his behavior. did he really think he could pull this off? he can pay all the hush money he wants (my opinion, only), but obviously people are going to talk- sooner or later. it's almost like he wanted to get caught...

no one condones what he did. but who i feel for are his kids. they haven't a clue what's going on with their dad now. unfortunately, they will find out soon enough. all the money in the world won't shelter them from the embarrassment their dad created for them...

Stvn6165 Tiger Woods handlers are the ones who botched or better put underestimated the depth of scrutiny this story would generate. They are also the ones who managed his new conference. He read from a prepared speech, answered no questions and just walked off stage. Another blown opportunity by his management staff IMO.

I agree TIGER needs to man up but in his own words not prepared speeches. His speach/new conference fell far short of expectations in my opinion.

I'm condemning all the media not just Howard Sterns. He is only one of many on the Woods scandal bandwagon. All media outlets should have a much higher ethical standard. There truthfulness is far less than the standard of evidence a private citizen has to prove against them. That is the problem. IMO the burden of proof should be equal for both media and the person. Sure would reduce the amount of sleaze in the press.
