Haven't done that in a long while. Last rd at Troon North hole 7, par 3. Going to swing and out of the corner of my eye I saw the wind change direction and gusting hard. Tried to stop my finger from swinging but hit the mouse just enough to start the swing and for some reason I stopped it quick. Ball just went off the end of the teebox into the desert. Ruined that round. That course is all about making those eagles on the par 5s. Didn't do so well. Also hole 5 !! You are going to par that hole at least once with that flag just on top of that hill to the back left. New rig did ok but still got some kinks to work out.

Ouch. Yes been there but fortunately not for a while either. And yes that 5th hole has beaten in the first two rounds already. Knowing how pre use you have to be I’ve missed the snap both times and paid for it. Started both rounds poorly too so need to be awake for the final 2.

Well just played round 3 and I was awake LOL But after holing out early that 5th hole did me again. Thinking hard about hitting the 6 oclock snap I waaay overswung and had a long putt which I left an inch or two short. Played well after that and got to the 17th at -18. Two brain farts later and I'm still -18.

For the approach shot to 17 I adjusted the stance by one and left the ball way short . tough putt no chance. I adjusted the stance forward instead of back Ooops
Similar 18 i reckoned a soft adjusted 9 iron or a strong adjusted PW. Went for the PW knowing if I hit it too hard I would have an uphill putt. Hit 12/6 spot on. Mistake and the putt had a ton of bend so nasty. Wouldn't mind but I picked a spot to allow for the massive bend from about 8 feet and then belted the putt through the break a bit. [censored]. Managed the putt back which was longer than the first putt

Roy, you had 14 eagles, 12 on the par 5's, Dirk had 11, StandDaMan had 10. I only had 5. Lost 6 to 8 strokes just on those holes. I don't like to over swing and can only reach two of those par 5's with a driver back 5 with a little overswing and the snap has to be dead on or hope for a pro forgiving snap. I have played better there and think I even won an event there but just have to have the right snap on the right approach shots.

I see Dirk parred the 5th hole all four rounds. A tough hole.

There's only 1 par 5 that isn't really reachable on Troon isn't there? I think I might have chipped in at least once on that one and I chipped in for eagle also on the shortish par 4 in an early round. Add a couple of other fluke par 4 hole outs and I got very lucky.
